The FPV Motorcycle Controlled RC Car project is an Arduino based racing game built using a salvaged Sega Manx TT arcade cabinet (Brochure here: http://www.mpamusement.com/Details.asp?List=24&Product=54). The motorcycle controller units were separated from the arcade cabinet and then sanded and repainted. The game works by using two Arduinos to first read in sensor data from the arcade bike and then transfer them to another Arduino to be used as control variables to drive a small 1/16 scale RC car. Wireless communication is achieved using Xbees and Bill Porter’s EasyTransfer library. Additionally, an FPV system was installed so that players can have more precise control over their car. Players will be able to drive around our racing circuit and compete in a time trial competition over the course of the Maker Faire. This year we got a 2nd car and motorcycle working, so we'll be doing some real life Rocket League!
