The Make-a-Shirt workshop at Maker Faire Orlando lets you make your own t-shirt using a silkscreen and ink. We taught over 1,000 people to Make-a-Shirt at Maker Faire Orlando 2016, and we are bringing all the gear back for 2017. Our screen printing workshop will be located in one of our air-conditioned exhibit halls, and is only $5 which includes your size of t-shirt!
The Maker Faire Orlando team also teaches screen printing at other events and we’ve taught the workshop at Artlando 2016, Creative City Project 2016, Free Play Florida 2016, and Maker Faire Miami 2017. When not at events, the merchmakr screen printing equipment lives at MakerFX Makerspace. If you have questions about the workshop or the screen printing equipment, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For 2018 Maker Faire Orlando is going to try a new addition to the classic screen printing technique and add Heat Transfer Vinyl to the activity. This is a cleaner method that is easier to replicate in many smaller making venues. Gainesville Mini Maker Faire 2018 had a successful use of this technique, where attendees could choose varying levels of difficulty to try.
