Fiber Fun for Everyone 2026
You can try weaving on a warp-weighted loom as first used MANY years ago (and what Penelope would have used during the Odyssey time).
Makers will demonstrate crafts that started many years ago, but are still relevant today. Yarn is spun using hand spindles and wheels, including modern electric wheels. Different types of looms will be demonstrated. Many samples of spun yarn, items made with handspun, woven items and braided items will be on display.
A free simple braiding activity will be provided as in previous years.

Members of the Drunken Monkey Spinners and Weavers of Orlando have been demonstrating at the Maker Faire for 10 years. We show how to spin yarn with various tools, how to weave with various tools, examples of things we have made, and provide a free takeaway for children.
