Step into a galaxy where creativity, craftsmanship, and community service come together!
The Makaze Squad of the 501st Legion is proud to be joined by our sister organizations, the Ra Kura Base of the Rebel Legion, Batuu Clan of the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club, Takodana Temple of the Saber Guild, and Spire of the Storm of the Dark Empire to showcase the incredible artistry and dedication behind Star Wars costuming.
Our members transform imagination into reality through sewing, 3D printing, electronics, prop building, painting, weathering, sculpting, armor fabrication, leatherwork, and countless other maker skills. Every costume and prop represents hours of creativity, problem-solving, research, and hands-on craftsmanship.
But for us, making isn't just about creating something amazing, it’s about what we do with it.
Together, our organizations use our costumes and characters to bring smiles to children and families, support charitable causes, participate in community events, visit hospitals and schools, and raise awareness and funds for organizations that make a difference. We believe that the skills we develop as makers can be used to build something even more important: community.
At this Maker Fair display, discover what goes on behind the helmets and masks. Meet the makers, see examples of our craftsmanship, learn about the techniques and technologies we use, and find out how a passion for Star Wars has inspired thousands of volunteers to create, serve, and give back.
