I’m costume maker Willow Creative, originally from the Netherlands, now based in Florida. I create tons of complex costumes with all sorts of crafting techniques as early as 2011, sharing my crafting projects online to millions of people on my social media and my YouTube channel.
I have a college background in gaming and digital art, and as such I am well-versed in 3D designing and expert 3D printing as well as a handful of self-taught skills such as sewing, foamsmithing, wigs, LEDs, mechatronics, SFX and more. There are few costume techniques that I’ve never dipped my toes in, since I love to choose to learn a new skill to complete each project.
My specialty is creating complex crafts to bring characters to life, with a variety from videogame armor and clothing, mascots, to full-scale animatronic wings and monsters. I show the raw process of how such a project comes to life and how I adopt solutions from the movie and SFX industry. I also create my own techniques and display them on my social media and YouTube channel, and share patterns and DIY kits on my website to inspire others to create!
