Maker Faire Orlando 10 Year Celebration Photo Contest

As part of our 10 Year Celebration, we are hosting a Photo Contest leading up to Maker Faire Orlando on November 5 & 6. You can share photos of you or your family from past Maker Faire Orlando (and Orlando Mini Maker Faire) events and be entered to win one of several awesome prizes!

Theme

All photos should be of you or your family from past Maker Faire Orlando (or Orlando Mini Maker Faire) events. You can enter with a single photo or a "then and now" style photo set that shows you or your family across time at Maker Faire Orlando (or Orlando Mini Maker Faire) events.

Prizes

  • 1st Place Winner - $200
  • 2nd Place Winner - $100
  • 3rd Place Winner - $50

Important Dates

  • Submission Form Closes - Saturday, October 22 11:59pm ET
  • Winners Announced - Monday, October 31 (time TBD)

Submission Requirements

  • One or more photos of you or your family at Maker Faire Orlando (or Orlando Mini Maker Faire)
  • A short description of the photo(s)
  • A quote about your experiences at Maker Faire Orlando (or Orlando Mini Maker Faire)

Entries will only be accepted through the Submission Form which will close automatically at the submission deadline.

Contest Rules

  1. Limit three entries per person. If more than three entries are received, only the first three will be considered eligible entries.
  2. An individual or family may only win ONE award in the overall contest (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place).
  3. Each Entry should be a single image. If an entry contains multiple images, it will be evaluated as a single "then and now" entry.
  4. Entries must contain a photo of the submitter or the submitter's family at a Maker Faire Orlando or Orlando Mini Maker Faire annual event. Other events where the Maker Faire Orlando team was present such as MEGACON are not eligible. Maker Faire Orlando Pop-Up events are also not eligible.
  5. Photos taken by Maker Faire Orlando photographers are not eligible.
  6. Submitter must own all rights to the shared photo.
  7. Any items entered into the contest may be reproduced or photographed and used by the The Maker Effect Foundation (TMEF) for display on TMEF websites, at Maker Faire Orlando, for event marketing purposes, or for grant submission and reporting purposes.
  8. Exhibit submissions shall not infringe on any trademarks or copyrights.
  9. Do not use or place any logos on the photos, including the Maker Faire Orlando Logo, Maker Faire Logo, any exhibitor logos or any Sponsor logos.
  10. Do not add any text, stickers, or graphics on the photos.
  11. Do not submit memes.
  12. Submission text and must be in English for judging.
  13. Judging will be done by The Maker Effect Foundation or its agents.
  14. Decisions of the judges will be final.
  15. If at the time of judging, there are less than 25 eligible entries, judging will not take place and prizes will not be awarded.
  16. Contest entrants must be 18 years of age or older to accept the Participation agreement.
  17. Maker Faire Sponsors are not eligible to participate.
  18. The Maker Effect Foundation reserves the right to reject any entry not in compliance with these rules and regulations.

  • Q: Can Maker Faire Exhibitors participate in this contest?
    A: Absolutely, but the photo must be of you, your, exhibit or your exhibit helpers, not of Maker Faire attendees at your exhibit.
